Company History
My name is Curt Jungwirth, and I began working in the refrigeration field in 1972. As
my career progressed, I began to focus more on the commercial side of refrigeration which enabled me to work with local nurseries
and wineries. As time progressed, I noticed that chillers had become more and
more over-engineered to the point where a general refrigeration service-person couldn’t work on them. A specialty technician would need to be contracted to simply adjust settings.
It became my goal to manufacture and provide a low-cost, basic chilling system for the
wine industry, (which expanded into the nursery and aquaculture industries as well), using off-the-shelf parts, and serviceable
by anyone knowing basic refrigeration. We have been accused of being “old-school”
by our competitors, but we accept that description with pride. It’s what
makes our company unique in a high-tech world. We compare our chilling systems
to carburetors on older cars: they may not be as fancy, but at least you can work on them. Today,
we manufacture different variations of glycol chilling/heating systems, and have expanded into space heating or cooling using
glycol as well. We are currently re-designing our “Heat or Cool Wine or
Glycol” unit to allow “must” to be heated or chilled without clogging and easily cleaned after use.
