This unique system will either heat or cool wine or glycol using one refrigeration system. Utilizing heat pump technology
,we take heat from the air and put it into the glycol or wine. By reversing the cycle, we can take heat from the glycol
or wine and put it into the air, chilling the product. We believe we are the only manufacturer that utilizes this energy
efficient technology for this purpose.
Utilizing two seperate heat exchangers, one for wine (stainless-steel) and the other for glycol (copper) we can isolate
the wine from the glycol, using the same refrigerating system. By simply flipping a toggle switch, you can choose to
heat or cool that heat exchanger. The glycol heat exchanger is thermostatically controlled. The wine
heat exchanger is controled by the flow rate of the wine or juice flowing through it. By selecting wine mode, two thermostats
are energized, both of which sense the inlet temprature of the wine or juice. One dedicated to cooling, the other for heating.
In the "Glycol" mode, two seperate thermostats are also energized, sensing reservoir temperature. One is dedicated
for heating, and the other for chilling. When changing from heating to chilling, (or vice-versa), simply flip a toggle
switch.
We have revolutionized the way in which we heat glycol. In the past, our heat pump technology worked perfectly for
ambient temperatures above 38 degrees Fahrenheit, but any temperature below that would ice up the condenser coil and greatly
reduce the effectiveness of our unit. We have solved this problem by incorporating back-up heating elements, (much like
back-up heat in your home heat pump). When the ambient air gets below the point where the unit is efficient, it automatically
switches to the back-up heat, so that your glycol can be heated efficiently and effectively no matter what the ambient air
temperature is.
